Oak – test page

Hi Oak Class,

This term our learning journey theme is The Olympics. We will be going to Crowborough to cheer the Olympic torch as it passes through East Sussex. We will be looking at all the different countries around the world who will be competing in the Olympic Games.

This week we are focusing on fractions, 1/2, 1/4 and 1/8. Please keep practising your spelling sheets.

This week’s homework is to complete these brilliant Numicon Summer challenges at home. This demonstrates how you can use a part of another website as part of your page. If the child clicks on this then it will take them to the other website. They will then be able to print off the activity.

When you have completed the challenge you can bring yourself one of these and then bring it in to class to show me!

[mls_mark]The Art Zone[/mls_mark]

This is the website for national gallery in Washington. There are some great ideas for art that you can try at home and interactive activities for you to do on the computer. Why not have a go at some of them and see what fantastic pices of art you can produce?

[mls_mark]Nash’s Adventures[/mls_mark]

English, Maths and Science adventures for children aged 5-7. This is part of the BBC website.

[mls_mark]The Little Animals Activity Centre[/mls_mark]

The Little Animals Activity Centre is a fun way for 4-8 year olds to learn and play at home.. This is part of the BBC website.

Watch the Olympic torch relay live. This demonstrates how you can have a live window in to another website. The children can navigate around the bbc website, but only within the confines of this box. If they click on the picture it will not open another window, so this may be slightly more secure than the Numicon window above, but you cannot print from this window.
