Today children, teachers, governors, parents, grandparents and friends of St Mary’s all joined together in the school hall to celebrate children’ achievement and to say thank you to all the adults who volunteer to support children with their learning. St Marys’ is incredibly fortunate to benefit from the experience of 30 different adults who regularly come in to school to help with reading, writing, fundraising, events, the walking bus, running clubs – to name but a few! Children made special thank you cards for the regular helpers in their class and presented volunteers with a small token of appreciation from the school governors.
Reception class children all received a certificate, report and letter from Mrs Slack to mark their graduation from Reception up to Y1. Y6 children received a gift from governors which was a year book they had designed themselves. As well as distributing Mathletics certificates and Phonics awards 5 children were also presented with Star of the Term awards. Please click here for more information about that.
Mrs Rowberry, Chair of Governors, spoke to the children about the incredible amount of care and time Mrs McGlew has given to the school over the past 3 years and presented Mrs McGlew with a small token of our appreciation. Mrs McGlew told the children how she will keep them all in her thoughts in the future months and sends them all best wishes.
We will be doing a whole school farewell to Mrs McGlew at our end of year service in the church on Tuesday 21st July at 2pm. Everyone is welcome.
