PGL trip

Dear Lilac class families
Thank you to everyone who was able to join us yesterday afternoon for the Meet The Teacher meeting. Miss Maltby, Ms Battle and Mrs Simm all appreciated your feedback, comments and suggestions following our discussion on the proposed trip to Windmill Hill. Following that discussion please use the link below to let us know if you support the trip.
We need to hear from all families, so please use the link below to complete the survey even if you were unable to attend the meeting.
Please scroll down if you would like to read our original email with information about the trip including a link to the website, dates and prices. As we shared yesterday we can reduce the price of the trip by approximately £72 if families wish to arrange their own transport and for children to bring their own bedding. There is an option for you to tell us what you think about this in the survey below.
The final cost of the trip can only be confirmed once we know final numbers. We aim to confirm this with you by Friday evening, but to do this we would need you all to complete this survey by Friday at 12:00. Please contact the office if there is anything we can do to support you in completing the survey. Families are welcome to use a school computer at the beginning or end of the school day, please just let us know if we can help in this, or any other way.
Thank you for taking the time to complete this survey. Your feedback is very important to us, and we will use it to help shape this trip to make it a valuable and inspiring experience for Lilac class.

Dear Lilac class families
We are very pleased to tell you that we are considering a Lilac class (Y5&Y6) residential trip to the PGL site Windmill Farm, near Hailsham. Please have a look at their website to discover more information about Windmill Hill. http://www.pgl.co.uk/en-gb/school-trips/primary-schools/centres/windmill-hill#.WFQVsa1vgdU
The proposed dates for the trip are Monday 15th May – Friday 19th May 2017.
We will be discussing the proposed trip with you at Lilac class’ Meet the Teacher’ on Tuesday 10th January 2017 at 2.45pm.  Following your feedback from this meeting, we will then seek approval for the trip from our Governing Body and East Sussex County Council.

Residential trips are a very valuable experience for St Mary’s children, and this trip will encourage them to work together as a team, try new experiences, and grow in independence during a stay away from home. All children will be supported to address any concerns they may have about being away from home and trying new activities. There will be 3 adults from school accompanying the children on the trip.
The expected cost per child will be around £500 including travel, accommodation, and activities. This is based on 25 children attending, and the final price will not be confirmed until we have exact numbers. If any families have any concerns around funding the trip please do not hesitate to contact me.
If we decide to go ahead with the trip the initial deposit of £40 will be payable on 20th January. An interim payment of £65 will be payable on 28th February, with the final balance to be paid on 20th March.
We look forward to seeing you at Meet the Teacher and discussing how we can plan a fantastic trip for Lilac class.
